THE ROLE OF PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR

Royal Oaks Country Club (ROCC) is looking for an experienced professional Membership Director. This person will report to and work closely with the General Manager/COO to develop, plan, coordinate, and administer programs to facilitate membership sales and retention.

The ideal person for this position will have experience in membership sales of high initiation fees, show high standards of skillful presentation to members, and growing and maintaining the membership of the club.

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS • Assists management in developing and executing strategic member programs, both short-range and long-range to achieve membership enrollment goals. • Develops and implements membership acquisition and retention strategies through appropriate public relations and marketing efforts. • Evaluates effectiveness of strategies, such as membership category structures, fee structures, benefits, and policies relating to retention of current members and acquisition of new members and makes recommendations for attaining goals. • Develops and implements programs and systems to create and maintain efficiency in the department.

• Responsible for overseeing the creation and production of all membership department collateral materials. • Maintains and updates Club Competitive Survey. • Responsible for all Membership tracking reports, monthly reports, tracking prospects in ACT. • Responsible for Web based Member Directory. • Responsible for all membership application collecting, processing, and filing, calling references. • Prepares annual budget and controls expenses during the year. • Assists management in planning and directing membership campaigns. • Responsible for accurate accounting of all monies collected by the membership office.

REQUIRED COMMUNICATION SKILLS The ability to communicate effectively with our vendors and other Club personnel is mandatory for this position: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and understand budgets, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries and/or complaints from members, prospective members, or members of the business community. Ability to write communications for publications that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to team members, membership base, public groups, committee members, and other club leadership.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a four -year college or university preferred - Previous club membership experience required - Ability to demonstrate a proven track record of membership sales and membership retention strategies/efforts - Experience in event planning, journalism, graphic design and digital marketing preferred
