Since our inception in 1995, A Better Shot has been a beacon of hope, empowering young minds to chase their dreams beyond the greens of our summer golf program. In 2022, A Better Shot marked a monumental milestone as we surpassed our initial endowment goal, raising an impressive $1,000,000. Building upon this triumph, we proudly awarded $80,000 in scholarships to 20 exceptional individuals in 2023. But this is just the beginning! As we leap into the future, fueled by the momentum of our past successes, we are thrilled to unveil our grand vision for 2024 and beyond. With your unwavering support, we are poised to shatter barriers and redefine what’s possible. A Better Shot uses golf as a tool to create opportunity... teaching children a game of rules, competition, values, challenges, and lessons that last a lifetime. It’s is more than a gathering place for friends and families. It is a mechanism to further the future through Education, Mentorship, and Scholarship Opportunities that help children as they transform into promising young adults.

LIFE SKILLS & MENTORSHIP MENTORSHIP We welcome the community in helping with our summer program. Many high school students volunteer each year to earn community service hours. We need volunteers to help with teaching, education, supervision on the golf course, and behind-the-scenes administration. EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS SCHOLARSHIPS Anyone participating in our A Better Shot program is welcome to apply for a scholarship to enhance their learning past high school. SUMMER PROGRAMS PROGRAMS Each summer A Better Shot hosts an 8-week summer junior golf program on Tuesdays. Over 200 children are enrolled each summer from Englewood and surrounding communities to learn etiquette, education, and life skills through the power of golf. Each child is placed in a group based on their ability, and arrives to have a 45 minute education session (golf & life skills), play an appropriate number of holes, and join everyone for a nutritious lunch.
